ABOUT US

From all walks of life
Zion United Methodist Church is a congregation of about 100 worshipping people each Sunday. They come from different backgrounds and have different interests. Some teach, some farm, some sell cars, some work in the tech industry. They live in town, and they live out by the lake. They own, they rent. Some have gone to church here for years, and others just stopped in last week.

They're a lot like you.

Come take a look. Stay for an hour, stay as long as you’d like.

Who are the ministers?
That would be all of us.

God gives everyone gifts. And not just to use in church. What you do for a living is one way you use your unique talents. So is your family life, what you do in your community, and your hobbies and interests. And, yes, what you bring to the church is an expression of your gifts, too.

Young, old, single, married, divorced, rich, poor, employed or not. We’re all in this together, whether you call it being “ministers” to each other, or just being there to help each other through the stuff of life.

Our pastor
Pastor Ann Scott came to Zion in July 2006. She is a lifelong Wisconsin resident, having grown up in Waukesha County, near Milwaukee.

She graduated from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill., in 2004 and was commissioned to ministry in 2006.

Pastor Ann invites people to hear God’s word through stories, and she believes in the church as a place where we can enjoy being with one another as we worship and learn together.

Pastor Ann is an adventurous dreamer, enthusiastic knitter and aficionado of fine cooking. She thanks God for her family, immediate and extended throughout the Upper Midwest.

Her husband, Steve, is a journalist who is completing a seminary degree. They have four children: Jill, a new bride and mom-to-be; Scott, a computer technician and new dad; Lara, who is studying vocal music at UW-Milwaukee; and Jackson, a high school sophomore.
